Scope and Contents The contents of the manuscript are as follows:(i) Statutes of the Order of the Garter in English (folio 1). The papers appear to have belonged to Lord Swinton, and may be the collection of the Reverend Samuel Semple, Swinton’s maternal grandfather (cf. FES i, 172).
